YOU ARE ALWAYS A PRINCESS.. a Message from Valerie

Writer's picture: Valerie StephensValerie Stephens

I hope you all are in good health & at peace.

On Saturday, August 26, 2023, we will be hosting our 11th Annual Princess Day: Celebrating Little Girls of Color at the Gertrude House Park in Roxbury.

The Princess Day mission is to promote self-love, creativity, and empowerment. Today, we have seen many young girls struggle with low self-esteem. It is essential that we, as a community, embrace our little girls and remind them that they are beautiful and unique just the way they are. It was with this thought in mind, that I created “Princess Day: Celebrating Little Girls of Color” in 2012 as a gift to my grandniece Jade.

Princess Day is a free family celebration filled with fun as little girls come dressed as princesses, superheroes, or just as they are.

The day includes music, live performances, dancing, creating sashes and crowns, playing with other little girls, and making new friends.

At Roxbury’s Gertrude House playground, there will be free books & other giveaways, face painting, healthy snacks, and the Princess Day throne room for photos.

I am so happy & excited that I can bring you another Princess Day event in 2023!

Thank you for all the support & love, see you soon!

Valerie
